How this site handles calculator inputs and visitor data.

Calculator data

The RAID calculations run entirely in your browser. Disk capacities, disk counts and indexes, parity assignments, and calculated results are not included in analytics requests. The limited interaction data described below may be sent to the analytics service.

CDN request logs

This site is delivered through BunnyCDN. When your browser requests a page or asset, BunnyCDN processes request logs that can include the requested URL, timestamp, response status, bytes sent, edge location, referrer, user agent, country code, and an anonymized IP address.

These logs are used to deliver and secure the site, diagnose problems, and understand traffic. They are retained for up to three days; Permanent Log Storage is not enabled. Learn more in BunnyCDN's GDPR information.

Anonymous analytics

This site uses a self-hosted Plausible Analytics instance at analytics.raid-calculator.dev to understand overall usage and improve the app. Plausible records anonymous aggregate metrics such as the page visited, referral source, browser, operating system, device type, and approximate location.

Calculator events may include the selected storage system, selected layout and comparison side, whether a ZFS option was enabled, and generic actions when a disk size or parity assignment changes or a disk is added or removed. They do not include disk capacities, disk counts or indexes, selected parity disks, or calculated results.

Plausible does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, does not track visitors across sites, devices, or days, and does not store raw IP addresses or full user agents. It does not collect or store personal data that could identify you and is designed to comply with the GDPR. Learn more about self-hosted Plausible Analytics.
